Academic Background

I received my BA in psychology and social behavior at UC Irvine. After taking several years off to work and travel, I returned to school and received my masters degree at Chapman University in Educational Psychology, Education Specialist degree and my Pupil Personnel Services Credential to practice School Psychology (I was there for three years!).

Professional Background

This is my 8th year at FVHS! In the past, I have worked in medical clinics and as a social worker. I worked as a school psychologist in Long Beach Unified prior to coming to FVHS. In addition to my duties at FVHS, I supervise Interns and Practica students (graduate students learning to be School Psychologists by getting practice in a school) and I have been an adjunct faculty member at Chapman University for 8 years. I train school psychologists nationally on topics such as mental health and counseling, crisis response and supporting sexual minority youth in schools.

Hobbies/Interests

All types of music (I was a radio DJ for 5 years), biking, camping, travel, reading, spending time with friends and family. In recent years, I've taken up learning how to play the guitar and am thinking of biking a marathon or even a century ride some day! Latest learning experience: surfing!
