20O, 20P, 20Q ALGEBRA - B/*C/*D 9-12/3 semester

This course extends regular Algebra 1 material through 3 semesters and is designed for students who have had difficulty with the fast pace of previous courses. The complete Algebra sequence meets one year of the University of California requirement for math. Each course must be completed satisfactorily with a “C” and in sequence. Approved for Scholar with Expertise program.
21I *ALGEBRA 1 9-12/Year
Prerequisite: 9th grade determined by score on District Placement exam and 7th grade CST math score. 10th–12 th require teacher recommendation.
This one year course provides an introduction to higher mathematics beyond arithmetic. Areas of prime concern include algebraic axioms and their application to solutions of linear equations, inequalities in one and two variables, construction of formulae and graphs, operations with fractions and equation solving, relation and function concepts, systems of rational and irrational numbers, and solution of quadratic equations and inequalities. It meets requirements for admission to universities and for the Scholar with Distinction/Scholar with Honors program.

Prerequisite: Algebra 1 or Basic Algebra B, C, D with a "C" or above in each semester and Geometry or Basic Geometry with a "C" or above in each semester.
21L *ALGEBRA 2B 10-12/Semester
Prerequisite: Completed Algebra 2A with a "C" or above.
21M *ALGEBRA 2/TRIG 9-12/Year
Prerequisite: Algebra 1 and Geometry with a "B" or above in each semester, teacher recommendation.
22A * GEOMETRY A 10-12/Semester
Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or above in Algebra 1 or Basic Algebra B-D.
22B * GEOMETRY B 10-12/Semester
Prerequisite: Grade of “C” or above in Basic Geometry A.
22C *ACCLERATED GEOMETRY 9-12/1 year
Prerequisite: 9th grade determined by score on District Placement exam and 7th grade CST math score. 10th-12th require grade of "C" or above in Algebra 1 and teacher recommendation.
This one-year course provides students with the opportunity to study Euclidean geometry utilizing induction and deduction. The course includes study of measurement, angles, perpendicular and parallel lines, congruent and similar triangles, polygons, and right triangles, coordinate geometry, circles, area of polygonal regions, and volume of solid regions. It meets requirements of universities and the Scholar with Distinction/Scholar with Honors/Scholar with Expertise programs.

Prerequisite: At least a "C" or above in Algebra 2/Trig. (both semesters) or “C” or above in Algebra 2 (both semesters) and teacher recommendation.
22L *PRE-CALCULUS HONORS 11-12/Year
Prerequisite: Algebra 2/Trig with “B” or above both semesters.
22S *AP STATISTICS 11-12/Year
Prerequisite: Grade C or above in Alg. 2/Trig. Grade C or above in Precalculus Honors, Grade A in Precalculus or Grade B with teacher recommendation.
23A *AP CALCULUS/AB 11-12/Year
Prerequisite: Pre-Calculus ”B” or above both semesters; a grade of “C” in Pre-Calculus requires teacher recommendation.
23B *AP CALCULUS/BC 11-12/Year
Prerequisite: Pre-Calculus Honors with ”B” or above both semesters.
24A MATH 4 12/Semester/Year
Prerequisite: Fulfilled state algebra requirement and passed Calif. High School Exit Exam.
24G CONSUMER MATH 11-12/Semester/Year
This is a junior/senior course which covers the math problems required to be an informed consumer. Students study topics such as banking, buying and owning a car, income tax, and insurance and budgeting. This class receives math graduation credit.
91R CAHSEE REMEDIATION MATH 11-12/Semester/Year
This course is designed for students who have met state algebra requirement, do not need math credits, but have not yet passed the math portion of the Calif. High School Exit Exam.
Elective credit only- not math credit
